Colorado Challenge Day 6

Posted by Lombard CRC, General on

Today started out very early as we awoke on top of Soldier Mountain. Although it was a cold night we were very happy that it did not rain and we were able to stay dry. The hike down seemed simple compared to the uphill hike the night before, although there were a few tricky spots.

After breakfast we loaded up the vans and headed out to tour the Air Force Academy. We watched a short film showcasing what the first year of a cadet is like. We also toured the famous chapel. I think everyone was really impressed with this place.

After the tour we stopped for lunch, we went to a place that had a lot of different options for everyone, though most chose Chick Fil A.

We then returned to camp with lots of free time before dinner and the final chapel of the week. After chapel they set up a party with live music and pizza. A good way to celebrate a good week at camp. Others in our group chose to play a game of sand volleyball, a good group activity.

Tomorrow we head out after breakfast and will have a few hours in the Denver airport before getting on the plane to return home.

Thank you again for your prayers, we have really grown this week and have deepened the bonds of the youth in our church. We are thankful for this opportunity.

See you at home.
